On May 17, 2012 Mr. O’Neill’s client won a reversal of the commissioner’s denial of her application for Social Security disability. U.S. District Magistrate Karen Strombom agreed with Mr. O’Neill’s arguments that the Commissioner had improperly evaluated the opinions of her treating doctors and the observations of lay witnesses. The plaintiff is a 54 year woman who suffers from fibromyalgia and degenerative problems in her low back who will now have a new hearing to determine her eligibility.
